At 18, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps driven by a profound sense of duty. Enduring grueling months at Parris Island, SC, and scorching years in Yuma, AZ, taught me leadership, teamwork, integrity, perseverance, and loyalty. Collaborating with diverse service members and traveling globally, I gained cultural awareness. These transformative years shaped who I am, upholding the Marine ethos of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. After leaving the Marines in 2012, I pursued an education at Nashville Auto Diesel College. Despite having no prior experience with diesel technology or as a mechanic, I graduated with a 3.8 GPA. I worked for two years as a mechanic, but I lacked a sense of fulfillment. Seeking a greater purpose in 2015, I became a police officer.Since 2015, I've mastered various aspects of policing, including interviews, research, legal literacy, and public speaking. As a school resource officer (SRO), I worked with the Travis Manion Foundation, teaching the Character Does Matter program to thousands of children amidst Covid concerns. In 2019, I pursued a personal interest in military history, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2022. I moved on to complete a master's degree in public history with a 3.696, refining my skills in writing, research, archiving, collections management, and leadership. I eagerly anticipate serving the public, preserving history with integrity, and embodying the Marine virtues of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
