My primary role was as Project Manager responsible for delivering Hydraulic Modelling services for Arup as part of their AMP5 & 6 Specialist Services Contract with Yorkshire Water. The frameworks required both hydraulic model building and the conversion of YWs existing stock of AQUIS Models to InfoWorks WS. I was required to be co-located with the client and manage a team of up to 8 modellers based at DNV GL’s Loughborough office and field work sub-contractors. In addition to the AMP5 & 6 modelling for Arup/YW, I was also required to oversee and deliver a variety of projects such as supporting Morrison Utility Services (MUS) to deliver schemes in Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water; mains flushing schemes for Anglian Water; asset criticality projects for Severn Trent Water and Anglian Water; Piccolo to Synergi model conversion for Northumbrian Water.Outside of the water industry I have been Project Manager on a variety of projects for gas companies and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). I have also acted as Bid Manager on several high value opportunities

Senior Engineer

As Senior Engineer / Project Manager for Yorkshire Waters 4-year AMP3 Network Modelling Contract, I was responsible for 8no. staff split between two modelling teams building of 42 WSZ models an 8 transmission mains models. The total value of this contract was approx. £1.2m. Following completion of the AMP3 Network Modelling contract, I was part of the bid team leading to Mouchel’s successful re-tendering for YWs larger AMP4 Hydraulic Modelling contract. I was responsible for up to 16 staff organised in 3 modelling teams located in different offices. The contract primarily involved building 69 WSZ models and 10no. transmission mains models to a value of £1.7mBeyond the technical aspects, I was responsible for resource planning, monthly financial reporting, client liaison, recruitment, staff development & mentoring, annual appraisals/performance reviews, day-to-day Health & Safety (DSE assessments, Risk Assessments, Office Safety Supervision, ensuring safe working practices & appropriate training for site staff) and adherence to QA procedures.While continuing to support the YW AMP6 modelling programme, I was appointed Chair of Mouchel’s departmental ‘Water Management Technical Network' - a forum of experienced Water Engineers aiming to introduce new technology and innovation to Mouchel. On completion of the Yorkshire Water project, I undertook a 4-month secondment as an internal SAP Training Consultant. The role involved delivering training across to all levels of the business throughout the UK & NI. Following on from the successful delivery of this intensive programme, I continued to be involved in the maintenance / updating of the training materials and undertake ‘Business as Usual’ training as required until November 2009.From mid-2009, I was also responsible for managing a team of Network Modellers in Peterborough and Liverpool producing Network Models for the Anglian Water under their AMP4 Framework Agreement

As Specialist Consultant working for this Danish Company, I was responsible for UK, Middle East and European Technical and End-User support for the AQUIS suite of Network Modelling software. I was also responsible for arranging, preparing and delivery of AQUIS training courses within the UK and overseas. My experience in network analysis was an integral with ongoing software development requiring me to produce functional design specifications; undertaking testing of new developments and reporting back to the system developers. The process also required that I kept abreast of our clients needs as the requirements from Network Modelling changed, and ensure that these requirements were addressed.Consultancy and support work included translating WATNET models to AQUIS for Thames Water and Essex & Suffolk Water; pump and reservoir modelling for the US Armed Forces and Abu Dhabi Water & Electric Company; network modelling & AQUIS training for Yorkshire Water, WS Atkins and Cegelec (formerly Alstom, Germany). I also provided a short raining course / lecture for MSC students at the University of East London
