PR Manager for the beauty side of this major UK high street retailer with 2,500 shops. Worked with the marketing and new product development teams to drive PR campaigns to drive sales for Boots leading beauty brands - No7 (the UK's leading cosmetics and skincare brand), Botanics, Soltan and 17. Also covered haircare and seasonal beauty categories (e.g. Electrical beauty at Christmas) as well as external brands exclusive to Boots.- Line manager to five assistant PR managers, responsible for their development and accountable for their successful delivery of the Boots beauty strategy- Responsibility for budgets in excess of £1 million- Development of strategy, associated plans and delivery of all PR related activities- Crisis and issues management where required (e.g. Suncare effectiveness, price wars etc)- introduced innovation into the team: launched new monthly beauty bulletin for journalists (including supporting filtering process), annual event calendar including delivery of four national events and pioneered the focus on the science behind the product and deepening the association with expertise - Launched major new Botanics brand to the UK and relaunched Soltan - both achieving significant sales uplifts- On editorial panel and contributor for customer magazine - Boots Health & Beauty- Counsel and coaching to senior players/celebrity ambassadors in advance of media interviews - Oversaw two agency partnerships and played key role in bringing capability in-house to reduce agency reliance and save cost
