A highly motivated and experienced promoter and enabler of Sustainable and Active Travel.From 2002 to 2014 was employed in the role of SWWITCH Travel Plan Coordinator covering the whole of South West Wales. Later rolling out best practice across the whole of Wales through Welsh Government funded initiatives. These included rolling out the SWWITCH Travel Plan Awards across Wales to be adopted as the All-Wales Travel Plan Awards. Ran tailored training programmes, and workshops to support organisations write Travel Plans.Facilitated and organised annual Travel Plan Conferences and Awards ceremony. Received a number of Awards during this time on behalf of SWWITCH for the work being carried out within the sector.Worked with Sustrans on a number of projects including the PTP project which was funded by Welsh Government looking at behaviour change innovations.In 2007 was pleased to receive the ACT Travel Planner of the year award. June 2014 moved to a new role as part of Section 106 requirements within Swansea University writing and implementing the first Dual Campus Sustainable Travel Plan for the University.The Sustainable Travel Plan and associated measures and schemes have been in receipt of a number of UK and National Awards for best practice. In 2016 was awarded the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT ) Outstanding Contribution to CILT in Wales. This is CILT Cymru’s special award and is presented to an individual judged to have made a major contribution to The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Cymru Wales over a sustained period and, in doing so, helped the Institute to raise its profile. This is not an annual award and is presented to an individual who the CILT Cymru judges see as deserving recognitionOther Awards include Safety category for late night bus service, Partnership working with the development of the 24hour bus service at CILT National level and UK level. May 2019 led on the work to enable Swansea University to be the first employer in Wales to gain the Cycle Friendly Employer accreditation (CFE-UK), and the highest level, Gold. Maintained our gold when reaccredited in June 2022.Instrumental bringing the successful Swansea Santander bike scheme to Swansea, through the Santander Cycles Competition including the first Crowd funded bike hire scheme in the world. We raised 188% of the total needed (over £100,00), gaining the highest number of pledges. This was achieved through strong partnership working, excellent communication and having the support of our students, staff and community.
