I am also available for independent work supporting schools and head teachers, primarily in language, literacy, education for sustainable development and curriculum design. I have been working in education for over 30 years as a primary teacher, deputy head, acting head teacher and adviser. I love nature and the outdoors and this underpins much of my work. For 10 years I was a Language and Literacy Adviser, working for Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire County Councils. In this role, I have advised on whole school improvement, including vision and design for the Curriculum for Wales (CfW) and effective transition from Foundation Phase to Key Stage 2. I have led successful local and international cross-curricular projects, inspired by quality literature and the UN goals for sustainable development goals (SDGs). I am able to able to deliver in-school or online support and training for any aspect of language and literacy, including the development of reading, writing, oracy. I can support planning for LLC and whole school literacy audits to assist with effective self-evaluation and school improvement. I am also a qualified life coach, passionate about supporting well-being in education.
