All Leaders Must Serve (ALMS) is a job readiness program formed to empower young adults from 15-25 years of age by instilling purpose, character, work ethics and the desire to give back to their community as self-sufficient adults through the service of mentors. ALMS is a 501c3.

The vision of MHM is to break the cycle of generational fatherlessness by partnering with the single mothers of fatherless boys in the Del Paso Heights community. MHM teaches self awareness, new ways of learning and a team approach to growth and hope. As director, I am dedicated to offering continued training, direction and encouragement to volunteer mentors and coaches who work with our moms and their sons.

Coordinate program, train leaders, teach classes, and mentor

Worked with the court system to investigate on youth's resident in Del Paso Heights. Through visits, I was able to expose abuse in her environment and worked with social worker to move her to a stable, safe home in Elk Grove.

Employed by First Covenant Church. I provided multiple services.1) Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based 12-step program for adults suffering from past hurts, and struggling with habits and/or addictions. For eight years I taught weekly classes, recruited and trained leaders, facilitators and sponsors; as well as promoted and coordinated nightly events. I enjoyed shepherding a team of leaders who facilitated small groups and sponsored individuals.2) I ran an afterschool program in a large apartment complex in the drug hub of Rancho Cordova. This position allowed me to work with parents and children at-risk from 2003-2008. As Director of Crossroads Ministries Family Center, my responsibilities included, but were not limited to providing an outreach and support system for families. I planned and implemented programs and activities for children – kindergarten through high school to enhance learning, assimilation into society (much needed social skills), and spiritual development. Besides counseling, coaching, and encouraging parents in areas of need, I organized field trips, arts and crafts, special dinners and celebrations, counseling, tutoring, and over-night camps (available for parents and students). It was also necessary to recruit, trained and support volunteers, including mentors and college students, to assist in many activities.3) As a Lay Counselor, I worked with the Lay Counseling team and met with individuals needing help.4) I was one of the presenters to offer Equipping Classes to the family of First Covenant on topics such as Boundaries, Safe People, Healing is a Choice, The Way We Love, Love is a Choice, etc. My classes were some of the top classes attended.

Chaplain for schools who had emergency situations, mostly grief because of student suicide. I also offered lay counseling to the community when needed; as well as worked with Grant High School in Del Paso Heights - especially with the Criminal Justice classes. I continued to work with this class after leaving the Chaplain group, per the request of staff - offering lay life skills training.

As a Consultant/Facilitator/Trainer, I worked as an Independent Consultant for programs such as A World of Difference (AWOD), Stop the Hate, bullying and other miscellaneous educational programs based on specific grants. As a consultant, I provided workshops for teachers, school staff, and students (peer training) on subjects of diversity and bias training. My goal was to teach RESPECT among people with different backgrounds, cultures, religions, etc.

Began working with Field Services and California County Boards of Education (CCBE) and moved into Legislative Services for the majority of my time at CSBA under Executive Director Herbert Salinger. The last two years I worked directly with the Delegate Assembly, Board of Directors and was the liaison between Computer services and computer maintenance until I retired to raise my two daughters. I left and returned to CSBA within the eight years.

I worked with the Energy Committee and Assemblymember Vasconcellos before getting married and leaving for Colorado Springs, Colorado for one year. I soon returned to Sacramento, California.
