Reporting to the head of Vaccines and Immunity Theme at MRCG, responsibilities include coordinating multiple, multi-site clinical research projects, attracting external funding, supervise and manage a diverse 50 strong team while liaising with government officials and public health entities such as WHO. Reporting to the head of TB research, responsibilities included serving as the principal laboratory scientist for a multi-site TB biomarker study including flow cytometry, luminex and P3 culture. Managed all data analysis and manuscript writing while supervising three students and 10 staff.Major Achievements:> Coordinated all laboratory aspects for a major TB biomarker study> Assisted in three vaccine trials > Analysed multi-site data for publication in peer-reviewed journals> Presented at international conferences> Developed a research program of TB/HIV co-infection and TB-IRIS patients> Developed flow cytometry analysis of TB patients in The Gambia

Worked for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity for leukaemia and stem cell transplant recipients. Reporting to the Head of the Immunotherapy Laboratory, responsibilities included developing Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte (CD8+ T cell) Immunotherapy for stem cell transplant patients. Developed modified tetramers against cytomegalovirus to limit the development of graft-versus-host disease following transplantation.
