As well as vaccine development I am also interested in other areas of immunology such as infectious diseases, immune responses to pathogens and investigating how we might modulate immune responses for a favourable outcome. I am also interested in viruses, including how they may alter immune responses and be a contributing cause of diseases such as type 1 diabetes. I enjoy hands-on bench work and prefer to undertake translational research if possible. Communicating scientific information, particularly outside of academia, is also important to me.
