The Briggs Equipment Group is a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. My role includes (but isn't limited to):1. Defining the group’s website content strategy, both .co.uk and .ie2. Developing the digital strategy for Hitec, Hiremech and other group websites, including used equipment3. Managing the group's domain portfolio4. Improving the group's digital content profile, boosting the company's performance for complementary products e.g. Hako5. Traffic reporting; Dramatically enhancing the company's understanding of activity through reporting via Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads (including the Briggs Online Store)6. Promoting the group's digital PPC (pay-per-click) strategy, PPC advertising, (e.g. Google Ads), including re-marketing strategy, for all group activities7. Creating new digital opportunities for the group's digital future including, LinkedIn Ads8. Creating new developments e.g. Live Chat, configurators, selectors, booking facilities (i.e. STH, Training)9. Looking at supplier management10. Since 2020 I have been achieving higher search engine rankings for my clients by creating targeted user-first content, focusing on relevant keywords, and taking advantage of the easy wins.

I was responsible for managing partnerships of both Harlequin Teamwear's long term existing clients and prospective new opportunities to work with like-minded companies and teams that pride themselves on their branding. I created fresh marketing material and used existing marketing data to help develop new products, to provide the range of clothing and accessories our clients required.

In 2017 I started the business PerkyPost trading as Perky Post (based on my last name “Perkins”). The company was based in 3 rented offices and 1 distribution centre at Parkfield Business Centre in the centre of Stafford. The business operated in the marketing and distribution market space and provided a range of marketing and door to door delivery services to its B2B customers.Services included: branding, flyer design, leaflet design, business card design, printing, door to door delivery.The company started with one Perky Poster who delivered flyers door to door (just like a postman does) and myself in the office. I focused on creating exceptional marketing materials for clients, bolting on our printing and door to door delivery service at an extra cost. To start with the company had no door to door tracking process, however, I created a unique GPS tracking system which allowed clients to monitor their door to door deliveries in real time via a digital map on www.perkypost.comIn the first month of trading I quickly realised that the live GPS tracking system was not enough to harness client trust. To combat this I created a video tracking device which recorded door to door deliveries for up to 10 hours. Clients could then watch their delivery back via our dedicated client portal on the Perky Post website.The company was growing quickly and contracts with SMEs such as MB Window Cleaning Limited, Mela Lounge, and Big Bite were agreed. Larger companies soon followed and the company had contracts with Domino’s Pizza, Aston Home Care, and Just For Pets. 1 Perky Poster soon grew to over 50 Perky Posters who were employed as third party contractors and the office team grew from 1 administrator to 3 full-time employed staff. At this point I developed a starter kit for Perky Posters (much like the Just Eat or Deliveroo takeaway drivers receive) which included, a video tracking device, video card, video holder, pen, and a t-shirt.

Working as a voluntary Special Constable (same uniform, same powers) came with a great deal of responsibility, challenging myself both mentally and physically, undoubtedly making myself the person I am today. Working in a variety of West Midland's policing teams including, CAPT (1 year), Drugs (1 year), and Response (3 years) gave me an in-depth understanding of how the organisation works to tackle crime and keep the public safe.Tasks included:Responding to 999 calls in a marked response vehicle.Booking prisoners into custody ensuring all potentially harmful items were removed upon arrest.Booking in prisoner's items.Ensuring all digital file systems were up-to-date and accurate.Communicating with other units when necessary: units consisted of, major crime, criminal investigation department, traffic, CAPT, drugs, dogs, firearms, child protection etc.Seizing of vehicles.Ensuring all e-learning was up-to-date and completed on time.Booking in drugs.Foot and vehicle patrols.Priority anti-crime initiatives.Road safety initiatives.Assisting in house-to-house enquiries.Ensuring members of the public including fans at football matches were kept safe.Presenting evidence in court.Offering crime prevention advice and promoting property marking initiatives.Training:Firearms training at Park Lane Police Station.Physical Intervention at Tally Ho Police Station.Advanced First Aid at Tally Ho Police Station.Action Counter Terrorism (ACT) at Tally Ho Police Station.Events:Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Aston Villa.

James Perkins Cleaning Limited changed to Fabulous Cleaners. The company was based in a rented office at Parkfield Business Centre in the centre of Stafford.Services included: window cleaning, fascia and soffit cleaning, gutter cleaning, gutter clearing, conservatory roof cleaning, and solar panel cleaning.Fast and effective online and offline marketing efforts allowed the company to expand its existing client base both domestically and commercially. Commercial clients included contracts with large blue chip companies as well as small independent businesses and organisations.Utilising my experience I perfected the original systems focusing on automation in more detail. For example, I made the decision to take payments for our regular window cleaning service only via direct debit through our customer management software. This ensured payments were taken at the end of each clean and company debts were kept to a minimum. I also implemented online round management software which automated worksheets for the cleaning technicians saving time whilst preventing wasted energy. I also introduced a more advanced online booking system where prospects and existing clients could book and pay for their exterior cleaning services online at: www.fabulouscleaners.co.ukI introduced a 3 stage pure water re-fill station (similar to a petrol station) where operators could re-fill their vans with 750 litres of pure water in under 60 seconds (previously it took 15 minutes to fill a van). An online mapping system was also added so clients could be located with even more ease by both operators and office administrators.

Being democratically voted as the class representative for my university's faculty three years in a row was an honour and a privilege.My responsibilities were to:Gather views from students regarding all the different and various aspects of their course and to communicate those to members of staff from their course.Efficiently sign post students in the right direction regarding mental health, learning resources or just assist with their general concerns or problems.

In 2012 I started the business James Perkins Window Cleaners (later known as James Perkins Cleaning Limited and Fabulous Cleaners Limited).The company started with 1 van and 1 operator with no customers. However, due to intense marketing efforts and the purchase of another local cleaning business the company soon grew to 3 vans with 3 full time employed operators, working 5 days per week, with over 1,500 domestic and commercial clients in total. Our commercial clients included contracts with Sports Direct, ASDA, and Reeds Reins to name just a few.Services included: window cleaning, fascia and soffit cleaning, gutter cleaning, gutter clearing, conservatory roof cleaning, and solar panel cleaning.I put new systems into place to include automation whilst ensuring maximum efficiency in the business. For example, digitally I added a CRM system and a cloud based client management system to ensure the customer contact points were smooth and effortless. I also introduced an online booking system where prospects could book and pay for their exterior cleaning services online at: www.james-perkins.co.ukPhysically, I introduced a pure water re-fill station (similar to a petrol station) where operators could re-fill their vans with 500 litres of pure water in under 2 minutes (previously it took 15 minutes to fill a van). I also added a mapping system as well as a round navigation system so clients could be located with ease by both operators and office administrators. All of these changes allowed the business to expand quickly whilst ensuring the business remained stable for the purposes of growth.

Teaching English online to speakers of other languages of all ages and abilities is challenging and rewarding.Tasks included:Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to target age groups and target language abilities (for example, A1 - C2 levels).Preparing appropriate teaching materials.Helping students improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in individual and group sessions.Checking and assessing students' work, and providing personalised feedback.Teaching stats:Over 5,000 English lessons taught online and offline.Over 500 students taught.I have taught students in over 50 different countries around the world.

As a Community Engagement Support volunteer I assisted Police Officers, PCSO's and members of Police Staff/Crime Commissioner Staff by supporting local events within the community. In this role I went out into the community to provide support to vulnerable people in areas of need. This voluntary role challenged myself in many areas as I quickly learned that some members of the public have little to no trust in our police services. However, I was keen to find out their thoughts and feelings which I believe through informal and relaxed discussions helped to have a positive impact on the community of Staffordshire.Tasks included:Distributing leaflets containing information regarding crime initiatives and local or Force wide information to residential addresses and business premises as required.Engage with the community whilst representing the Force at local events held within Police premises or at alternate venues.Support with the barrier at Police Headquarters to allow guests into Force led events and engage with guests as they enter the premises.Support departments throughout the Force when requested.

As a sales associate I managed to regularly achieve the highest weekly sales targets within the Ernest Jones Stafford branch. I thrived upon working in a sales environment, building strong rapport with the team. Ernest Jones (part of Signet Group) focused on selling high-end jewellery, watches and other beautiful items to customers across the globe. Product knowledge and high energy combined with a personal approach was essential to selling our items to our customers.Tasks included:Completing the relevant product knowledge portfolios (diamond jewellery and TAG Heuer watches etc).Staying up-to-date with CPD accreditations.Ensuring all displays looked to the highest of standards.Selling products to customers including available insurance packages.Stock counting and ordering in stock when running low.
