As the Director of Design Architecture for Opus Architect and Engineers, LLC. Jay oversees the design phase document production team across all regions while providing direct design services to our Minneapolis, Iowa, Colorado and Texas Real Estate and Construction teams. As one of the firm's lead designers, he is responsible for a project's initial conception, working firsthand with clients to communicate various design approaches that satisfy their specific functional and aesthetic needs. As the project design evolves, Jay oversees the City approval phase of entitlement and detailed design development of the project. During the detailed construction document phase that follows, Jay directs the emerging documents for creative intent while supporting building infrastructure such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other trades details are integrated as integral components of the design. Jay has been practicing architecture for 15+ years. As a lead architectural designer, Jay has completed a variety of projects including campus master plans, university facilities, office buildings, multi-family mixed-use, adaptive reuse, retail projects, corporate headquarters, and industrial.

Responsibilities include management of all design work flow for the entire Opus regional office portfolio. As a manager and designer, the role is responsible for a project's initial conception, working firsthand with clients to communicate various design approaches that satisfy their specific functional and aesthetic needs while also guiding the project through City entitlement processes. Oversight of design development and emerging documents from a creative intent is integral to delivering design excellance in my current role. Active design management of all Minneapolis, Iowa, Colorado region projects as well as overarching management of the entire book of work nationwide.

Mr. Fourniea develops and strengthens relationships with clients internal and external of The Opus Group. He gathers project pursuits and manages design staff to execute the best solution for our clients nationally. In addition to his office management role he also acts as a senior design architect designing major projects and proposals for the Opus Group of Companies and their partners. Mr. Fourniea also supports business opportunities and marketing activities by developing architectural concept drawings and 3D models in response to client requests, market & site analysis and iconic design features. Mr. Fourniea develops design of major projects and proposals for the Opus Group of Companies and their partners. As a Design Architect, he aides in resolution of complex projects including challenging schedules, tight budgets, difficult sites from conception through completion. In addition to project specific responsibilities, Mr. Fourniea also supports business opportunities and marketing activities by developing architectural concept drawings and 3D models in response to client requests, market & site analysis and iconic design features.

All aspects of project involvement, including client relationship, building partnerships within the project team, programming and design through production of construction documents and construction administration.
