I’ve spent my career working to improve value in healthcare locally and around the world. In college and graduate school, my research sought to inform better policy decisions by understanding the cost-effectiveness of diagnostic tests for malaria and implantable cardiac devices. In the contemporary construct of value (outcomes per unit of cost), my international strategy/business development work brought high-quality care models to markets around the world including private sector employer offerings in Canada, specialty care in rural western China, and direct primary and specialty care in the Middle East. Over the past several years I’ve refocused domestically, building and scaling programs to address the total cost of care by improving outcomes in globally capitated full-risk models.
