Hey there! I’m Jay, a 3rd year computer science major at York University! As you may have guessed, I spend some of my spare time coding, as well as trying to learn new things! I have two completed projects, a Connect Four Bot and a Twitter Clone, both made with React.js and for the latter, Firebase as well. Recently, I have been trying to use genetic algorithm to simulate logistics (such as transporting goods through different vehicles and routes) using React.js. It’s quite different from what I’m used to, but that novelty is the fun part! My hobbies include watching movies, learning about dinosaurs, and more recently, drawing.In the past, for over 6 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working as part of the Youth Leadership Program (YLD) at the YMCA. I have volunteered at various places and done various things, such as tree planting, organizing items at toy drives and food drives, and handing out medals to marathon runners. Other than volunteering, I have spent time educating the public about mental health and prejudice through presentations and booths. For my motivation and determination to make a difference in our community, I was awarded the Outstanding Leadership Award.I’m eager to connect and explore opportunities where my technical skills and commitment to community can create meaningful impact.
