Profile bio

About Jay Sarkar

My experience, expertise and interests lie along influential, rigorous, data/model-driven and knowledge-based pathfinding R&D, innovation and enabling of novel systems, technologies and devices. With specific technical domains spanning interpretable/explainable machine learning, physical/statistical modeling/simulation, system performance/reliability - I currently focus on hardware-software co-designed memory/storage systems for evolving computing architectures and infrastructures. Areas of focus for me in data science/ML have been on leveraging causal inference and prescriptive methods for generalization and reasoning - together with principled exploiting of richness of system design, architecture and mechanisms inherent in system-behavioral layers and abstractions for innovations across and beyond the von Neumann hierarchy.Much of my interest and work has been at interfaces of science and engineering, and across interdisciplinary teams - while bearing practical impact on novel designs, intellectual property, technologies and products. Most of the refereed, original publications and fully data-driven patents on associated fundamental technologies, such as linked below, have been underpinned by first-principles and foundational approaches - while addressing topics spanning and bridging emerging systems, devices and silicon communities, and initiatives such as OCP. Serve on the Technical Program Committee at the IRPS conference, and engage on academic and industry research on emerging technologies.

Listed skills include It Management, Java, Red Hat Linux, Disaster Recovery, and 51 others.
