We show that the presence of such legislation plays an important role in internalizing the external costs associated with design attributes of products such as durability and recyclability.• Research on the efficient allocation of carbon emission allowances over a supply chain. We show that the cost of reducing emissions across the supply chain is significantly lower if firms within the same supply chain collaborate.• Relevant Ph.D. level coursework includes Supply Chain Modeling, Linear and Nonlinear Optimization, Multivariate Statistics, Economic Decision Analysis, Econometrics, and Dynamic Programming.• Co-instructor for undergraduate core 3501 – Operations Management class, 2012.
