I have a passion for understanding issues and problem solving. If something isn't working right or there's a danger, I can't rest until it's fixed. This is linked to my belief that people, society and businesses thrive when they're in a safe environment. That's what led me into a 15-year career working with diverse teams to analyse and manage risk. Whether it be implementing risk management frameworks, understanding a geopolitical situation, or conducting risk assessments to improve business resilience, the purpose is always to create a safe environment. My experience has taught me that that no matter how good the research and analysis, if it isn't properly communicated then little gets done. This is why I believe that to be a good risk manager you need to be good at stakeholder management to forge working relationships, promote the risk culture and influence risk actions.
