About Jayson Chang

I am a public educator, currently teaching high school social science. I teach World History, Government/Economics, financial literacy, and AP Human Geography. Besides teaching content, I am deeply interested in social-emotional learning practices and culturally relevant pedagogy. I emphasize on student/relationship-centered classrooms as central concepts in my practice.Outside of the classroom, I work on organizing around professional development and best practices for educators on a variety of topics, such as history education, pedagogy, racial equity, BIPOC leadership, etc., across the country for the California Teachers Association and National Education Association. In addition, I am a team member at the non-profit, The Asian American Education Project, where we work on delivering and training K-12 curriculum on Asian American Pacific Islander history to educators and school districts across the United States.
