I instruct Wilderness First Aid and CPR classes for NOLS Wilderness Medicine, teaching up to 30 students in an immersive 16 hour course that prepares them to make effective decisions about treatment and evacuation in emergency situations. I have been fortunate to travel all over the U.S. and as far away as Korea to teach these skills. I mentor and evaluate new instructors in lesson preparation and delivery. This position requires sensitivity to each person's unique learning pathway and the ability to deliver complex information in an entertaining way that builds retention. It's a challenging leadership role that consistently pushes me to grow and improve.

In this position, I worked in collaboration with the Board of Directors, the business owner and other senior managers to develop budgeting, strategy, and operational procedures to ensure consistent company growth by providing and managing the highest quality experience for customers and staff. I was additionally responsible for the operations of the facility, including overseeing staff management, logistics and risk management. I directed the work of 4 managers who in turn oversaw a staff of 40+ in customer service, membership support, youth and adult instruction programs, route setting, fitness programs, outdoor guiding and maintenance.
