STRATEGIC PLANNINGConduct Disaster Recovery planning, deployment and policy.Foster appropriate risk management strategies and controls.PROGRAM MANAGEMENTOn-premise production system move to co-located Class-A Datacentre: With minimal downtime, move 7 node physical from on-premise server closet to Class-A datacenter. Total downtime was less than 6 hours including IP and DNS changes.Class-A Datacentre hardware refresh and upgrade: Migrate from “traditional” 3 tier physical cluster to hybrid physical+virtual HA cluster. Added ~40TB of additional software defined (ZFS) HA shared storage. Upgrade to 3way HA switching stack. New 1GB private VLAN between the office and datacentre.ARCHITECTURESub-contractor sFTP and secure cloud files proxy appliance: As the lead architect, developer and support point of contact, developed secure sFTP servers. Project allowed dedicated, discrete and isolated portal access to designated outbound and inbound data. All systems included automatic and temporary banning of abusive IP’s from the service as well as audit reporting and system summaries.Multi-site Domain reconfiguration to allow for new mergers and growth.

QUALITY MANAGEMENTQMS: Maintain and ensure continual improvement of QMS, products and processes, including the measuring, monitoring and analysis of compliance to ISO 9001:2000 (DQS-UL) requirements. Maintain, monitor, review and analyze the company’s QMS processes: Control of Nonconforming Products processes, Corrective Action process, Preventive Action processes, Root cause analysis, Control of Documents and Records processes AUDIT PROCESS: Internal ISO 9001:2000 (DQS-UL), Preparation and recommendations for pending SOX compliance, Lead and Point of Contact between Intermap and external Auditors.Conformance to both COBIT4.1 IT Governance and ITIL standards (certification was in progress and ongoing).

PROJECT MANAGEMENTSecure File Transfer Appliance: As lead architect, developer and support POC, built complete end-to-end large-file (over 2GB) Secure File Transfer Appliances. This system included automated notification, SOX compliant security logging, Single sign-on capable and automatic data cleanup and usage reports. Drop-box like functionality and API extensions further leveraged this solution. VMWare Server migration: As a key team member, migrated problem legacy systems to VMWare server-class IBM hardware. Involved creating new low bandwidth and testing servers and systems under VMWare, as well as preparation for new VMWare (ESX) redundant and balanced (VMotion) cluster server. Technologies used: iSCSI, FC, NFS, LVM Cisco Infrastructure Upgrade: Upgraded 6 core and 2 satellite offices, including VPN tunnel, firewall, redundant core and edge switches; moved from 4 physical LANs to 6 VLAN’s.File Manager: Lead architect, developer and support POC, built a complete end-to-end File-Manager, repository and database system. Cross-platform (unix/windows) geo-location aware file-manager, production loader with automated auditing 32bit float raster based IFSAR DEM data with 5m posting; automated stereo image creation; automated neighbouring inbound and outbound data merging to create seamless dataset; automated production metrics and history. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATIONAccount management and synchronization.Managed over 650 accounts on the Domain world-wide with 90% of staff in three core offices. VPN client installation and support. As audit lead, documented and accounted for all ESRI products deployed at all Intermap Offices. Improved software deployment and reduced licensing costs, by working with ESRI Canada and ESRI (USA).TRAININGCLIENT SUPPORTSupported 350+ high-end workstations deployed company wide. Represented IT for cross department teams for edit change management and deployment. Supported legacy productivity tools still used in production.

Train, lead, document, mentor and monitor a small team of 5-8 staff within a Stereo 3D DEM edit production environment. The primary tasks included edit of Interamp's Radar based IFSAR DEM (Digital Elevation Model) edit using a combination of commercial (PCI,PCIEASI, Erdas, BAE-Soccetset, Shell scripting, ArcView, ArcInfo, GMT) and in house proprietary custom software applications.
