Jay provides strategic oversight to in-person and digital experiences to bring IFT's overall strategic plan to life, while improving current and future programs to meet evolving member and customer needs. Notable accomplishments include: - Overseeing the successful transition of IFT's in-person learning and networking opportunities to virtual experiences for the Annual Event (120 scientific sessions, 650 posters, 6 short courses, and 14 socials).- Implementing a new ‘Question-A-Thon’ process to understand the most pressing questions our members want addressed. These questions now guide year-round programming and conference content. - Launching new virtual content and engagement opportunities, such as podcasts, fireside chats, hackathons, and social events.- Leading the exploration, contract negotiation, and implementation of new technologies, such as an online community and abstract management system.

In this role Jay supported IFT's Special Interest Groups (Divisions) to increase member value, develop unique scientific content, and provide a strategic vision. He also managed IFT's Career Pathways initiative, which strives to help continuously develop professionals and aid them in career advancement and transition. Notable accomplishments include: - Developed and implemented a new strategic plan focused on enhancing member value and expanding volunteer opportunities- Grew average Division membership 203% by rebranding and expanding engagement opportunities- Transformed a leadership training for over 160 volunteers into an idea-inspiring, impact-driven program called the Division Innovation Lab- Expanded IFT’s educational program to include curated professional development sessions specific to career pathways within the science of food.
