Roboticist focusing on manipulation in collaborative and industrial applications.–Manipulation lead also responsible for helping integrate perception and planning pipelines for mobile manipulation application within the Human Centered Robotics initiative, focusing on robotic learning from virtual demonstration (tool fetching use case).–ROS and LabView integration of closed loop process monitoring and control for industrial robotic welding application.–Automated threaded assembly of fuel injectors using a bimanual robot and vision system with feature recognition.–Experience operating ABB, UR, and Kinova robotic arms, installing and operating Vicon motion capture system.

Investigated fundamental phenomena applicable to future technology in the largest global oilfield services company.– First staff scientist in newly established mechatronics/robotics group exploring increasing operational efficiency through automation. – Implemented proof of concept active noise cancellation scheme for tubular structures with NI LabVIEW Real-Time.– Established experimental research program related to coiled tubing reach extension. Research assistant for MIT Energy Initiative project exploring the mechanical behavior of rods with oilfield applications.– Awarded 2010 MIT Civil Engineering Department Parlamis Fellowship for structural engineering.– Designed, built, and performed desktop-scale experiments investigating how to extend the reach of coiled tubing operations in the petroleum industry, featuring quarterly presentations to industrial sponsor.– Developed method for manufacturing rods with set natural curvature, exploring the physics of curly hair.– Communicated results of work as first author of four peer-reviewed publications and gave six academic conference presentations including a highlighted talk at the American Physical Society March Meeting (44/9,000 talks highlighted).
