I began my career in data networking by joining the New England Telephone Company as a Central Office Technician in 1987. In my 9 years at NET/NYNEX I held a variety of positions, ending my tenure as Regional New Products and Services Manager focusing on Advanced Intelligent Network product roll-outs in Manhattan NYC.In 1996 I accepted a position as Network Operations Manager for Harvard University, where I was responsible for the design, implementation, operation, security and disaster planning for the University's Border Gateway Complex, Core Data Network that serves the entire University as well as every Longwood Medical Area Hospital, and the Northern Crossroads (NoX - New England's Internet2 GigaPoP). In 2013 I joined FairPoint Communications where I continued to provide Network Operations and Cyber Security Leadership in the ISP and Managed Services business sectors. After 30 years in leadership positions, I decided it was a good time for a change in career direction and accepted a role as a Sr. Security Sales Engineer for the North-East and Mid-Atlantic Territories at Arbor Networks, the Security Division of Netscout. Arbor has led the industry in DDoS Defense and Cyber Threat Identification, Network Visibility and Threat Research since their inception in 2000. Having enjoyed using the platform for more than two decades in a variety of operating theaters, leveraging it for everything from network accounting and traffic engineering to threat hunting and DDoS defense, coupled with joining a corporate culture full of quality people supporting a superior suite of products, has made the transition an enjoyable one.I’m a dynamic, enthusiastic, hands-on leader who is as comfortable configuring information security infrastructure as I am directing large scale network operations. I have a substantial history of delivering collaborative leadership, technical excellence and strategic innovation to data network operations and information security organizations. Most importantly, I enjoy what I do!
