Providing business counseling to food and farm businesses across Michigan assisting them in getting prepared for financing.

Making sure all employees are well trained in customer service, making sure the store is in the upmost condition, and overall just making sure operations move smoothly.

Working to promote healthy locally grown food from CSA's all over MI.

I ran a variety of garden/food education workshops for those of low-income families as well as providing information of the various programs that are available to them, including but not limited to container gardening for easier access and availability and how to preserve their own food and to educate them in where their Bridge Card can be used to purchase local produce, including at the various Farmer’s Markets. Furthermore I also utilized and oversaw volunteers for work days in community garden spaces.

I work to help beautify this great city through business adopting little garden beds and maintaining the rain garden along MI Avenue.

I work along with my co-intern Amy Jacobs to come up with a viable and easily understood method to show the current Food Justice Trends in the Greater Lansing Area for all to see on the Food Systems Work Group website to ensure that there is Food Security and Food Justice for all!! During this time my main project was the Ingham County Food Stories blog that focuses on community out-reach and involvement by giving the community a voice and the opportunity to tell what food means to them. We focused on those that have routinely been overlooked; such as women, low-income, & different ethnic groups.

I work along side amazing people that working feverishly to make everyone's lives healthier by making their environment better. During this time my main project was the Ingham County Food Stories blog that focuses on community out-reach and involvement by giving the community a voice and the opportunity to tell what food means to them. We focused on those that have routinely been overlooked; such as women, low-income, & different ethnic groups. In the summer of 2013 I had the privilege to be one of Randy Bell’s research interns for the Food System Workgroup’s Food Indicators Project that focused on researching 8 specific categories that influence MI’s food system and will hopefully influence policy makers in the future.

I am in charge of about 20 students per shift and I make sure that they do their jobs
