About Jazmine Gallardo

Hello! I’m Jazmine Gallardo, a recent UCLA alum who graduated with a degree in Human Biology and Society and a minor in Public Health.I am excited to learn about opportunities related to community health promotion! I am extremely passionate about working alongside marginalized communities and advocating for equitable policies in healthcare, education, and beyond. My experience as a Peer Mentor in the First Year Scholars Program through UCLA’s CAAC office has also allowed me to explore resource management and advocacy on behalf of the underrepresented students I help transition into university living and learning. Research experience with the UCLA Carceral Ecologies lab has provided me with insight into the interactions between public policy, environmental justice, and humanity, giving me a sense of how my own knowledges and experiences can help inform my actions and research as a professional entering the workforce. As a lifelong learner, I hope to continue broadening my outlook on the world and be part of the changes that will foster a more equitable future for all.
