About Jazmine Medrano, Mph
My passion for health & wellness education stemmed from an early age. As a daughter of immigrants and first generation graduate, I was often the first point of contact to assess and translate health information for my grandparents. My family health history is text book. There’s hypertension and diabetes and I wanted to advocate for more health education for families who often do not know how to manage their chronic diseases. My professional experience consists of health educator, nutrition program supervisor, and overall a Public Health practitioner. Currently, I serve as the community impact director for the American Heart Association overseeing a health equity initiative for Atlanta to bring forth resources and education to under resourced Black, Hispanic/Latino, and Asian communities. There is great power in building communities and working with them to determine the plan of action!
