In cooperation with the Industrial IOTA Lab Aachen (IILA) I developed a concept for my master thesis about the persistence of digital twins in manufacturing technology with the help of Distributed-Ledger-Technology (mainly Blockchain).The concept is based on the idea that in the (near) future data (here mainly digital twins/shadows) will be traded between global companies as they trade goods today. The aim of the concept is to show how digital twins (and other data) can be safely stored and secured against manipulation and further how the data can then be used for new business models or the improvement of production systems and manufacturing networks on a global scale.

In cooperation with the Research Group Global Production of WZL I developed a culture-oriented human resource management (HRM) concept for globally operating midsize industrial companies.The background of this thesis is that during our still lasting era of globalization even small and medium-sized companies aim to have locations in different parts of the world. The human factor is hereby still often overlooked or not taken seriously. By ignoring or not being aware of cultural factors the companies can lose a lot of money and even fail to set up new locations. That is why planning HRM dependent on cultural factors is essential to a successful expansion for SMEs.
