Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Baltimore, Maryland Area

As a T32 NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in Vaccinology for the Division of Malaria research within the Institute for Global health, my research involves using proteomics to develop and validate antibody-based serodiagnostic assays to inform interventions for pathogen biosurveillance and malaria vaccine development. I use novel, high-throughput multiplex peptide and protein microarray technology to assess the contribution of ultra-low parasitemic malaria infections to the malaria burden in Southeast Asia. I will also apply this technology to find immunogenic epitopes of malaria parasite surface antigens whose antibody responses are correlated with protection from symptomatic malaria infections to inform next-generation malaria vaccines.
