After graduating from Penn State Behrend in 2010, I worked as a Behavioral Consultant and Special Education Assistant in the Elk County area prior to returning to school at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2012 for my teaching certifications and master's degree. After obtaining my Secondary English and Social Studies certifications in 2013, I began teaching within the Erie Public Schools. While teaching, I completed a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Edinboro in 2015. During my tenure with ESD, I taught 9th grade World History, 10th grade American History, 11th grade Modern American History, the Art of Argument, and 10th grade English over the course of eight years. After leaving the classroom in 2021, I pursued other endeavors outside of education until returning to Penn State Behrend in the spring of 2024. Currently, I serve as the College for Kids Director for the university, as well as a Program Coordinator and Education Program Specialist for the Youth Education Outreach department. While it is not the typical classroom setting, I enjoy being back at Behrend, and working with individuals in the community to provide positive outreach exposure and experiences to local youth at our wonderful campus.
