A former Deputy Comptroller of the Currency and staff member of the US Senate Banking Committee, Jo Ann is a Senior Fellow Emerita at the Harvard Kennedy School Center for Business and Government. She hosts the global podcast show Barefoot Innovation and authored the seminal paper, A Regtech Manifesto. Jo Ann advises numerous regulatory bodies and speaks annually to thousands of people throughout the world. In 2020 she was inducted into the Fintech Hall of Fame by CB Insights.

I'm CEO of Barefoot Innovation Group, host the podcast show Barefoot Innovation, and am Senior Fellow Emerita at the Center for Business & Government at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. I'm a keynote speaker on fintech and regtech, reaching thousands of people annually in the U.S. and throughout the world. I'm writing a book on financial innovation and regulation. I'm an angel investor and co-founder of the startup Hummingbird Regtech, bringing better technology to AML and fighting financial crime. For three years I served on the Consumer Advisory Board to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I'm also on the board of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and several advisory boards. I was previously Deputy Comptroller of the Currency, served on the Senate Banking Committee staff, and was a partner and managing director at KPMG.
