Canvas Technology is now a part of Robotics at Amazon. At Canvas, we set out to build the next generation of indoor/outdoor autonomous transportation vehicles. The Canvas software team is comprised of experts in motion planning, vehicle collaboration, environment mapping, computer vision, job scheduling and optimization, event driven web systems, embedded systems, 3D simulation, GPU-based acceleration, and more.Direct responsibilities at Amazon included two roles - the first was managing the Robotic Control Services (RCS) team. Focus was aligning team and business needs, prioritizing work efforts, software estimates, quarterly planning, interviewing, and mentoring of team.Second role was as a Software development engineer. Responsibilities included lifting monolith server into cloud, converting our monolith server software into cloud-native software services, and Java development for new route planning and job scheduling system in AWS. While in the SDE role, contributed directly to creating a tele-operation service to enable remote operators to connect to robots, take direct control, operate the robot, communicate with business holders tele-operation job completion, and work with service teams to conduct training and operation reports to stakeholders. Conducted security review and reports on tele-operation software to ensure Amazon upholds customer trust in our tools within the warehouse.

Employee #5 and lead engineer building the customer focused software side of a robotic automation system. Responsibilities included creating the back end server communication with robots, web services, user interface, robot OS provisioning, configuration management, software deployment, configuring/maintaining AWS cloud computing services, developing job scheduling services for robots, user interfaces, user experience testing, hiring, interviewing, managing & mentoring developers, and assisting in driving product focus of customer focused tools.Canvas was acquired by Amazon in March 2019. I was directly involved with the software due diligence, licensing, and deep dive efforts conducted by Amazon.

Maintain all aspects of client side tooling for the Ionic Framework.Maintain the Ionic CLI written in Node.js.Created from concept to release a full desktop GUI app in Electron for maintaining Ionic applications that run on Mac, Windows, and Linux (l​ab.ionic.io).Responsibilities included interacting with community members, plan features from customer demands, giving talks at conferences or user events, driving customer demands back to the team, and working with the core team to create a single library that would be consumed by both the CLI and GUI Ionic tooling.Development of Ionic v2 and assisting development with Angular 2.

RaiseMore develops and hosts map-based mobile and web applications to manage run/walk/jog fundraising events for non-profits. Users can target donors who are interested in their cause and provide them with a stream of updates. This platform allows donors the opportunity to see and experience what they are involved in.Direct responsibilities included creating back-end service to supply APIs to mobile applications. Created a white-labeled phone application (using PhoneGap) and service that allowed customers to log in, upload media, specify verbiage, choose modules for application, built the phone application, and staged the deployment to both Android app store and Apple app store. Built the back-end service that aggregated and supplied customer activity feeds for the fundraising activities that were in progress or had passed.Built the web-application that allowed remote users to see their family members during live-action fundraising activities, such as runs, marathons, cross-country tours, or any activity that had participants moving in real time. Web application had engagement tools with social media networks, along with sending messages directly to participants mobile applications.

Provided analysis and development modifications for the BI tool, Cognos. Implemented new security system front end for Cognos. Provided support and development of their existing CRM system.
