The main responsibility of the Innovation Hub Director is to lead the Innovation Hub, including oversight of the physical space, training of students and faculty, curriculum development, teaching, and partnerships and outreach. My goal is to be someone who inspires and supports young people and faculty, and share my love for visionary thinking as well as strategic implementation. I plan to complete this goal by bringing a deep knowledge of best practices in design education, including additive and subtractive manufacturing, computer-aided design, engineering, and robotics.

• For the duration of my time at the Green School, led and directed the Community Innovation Hub or ihub, a space designed to enhance the hands on project capabilities of the school and provide interactive project-based learning environments accessible to students of all ages, using a grant of $100,000 won by the school from the Earth Day Committee in 2017.• With a team of 6 local Indonesian staff, we succeeded in collectively integrated the ihub as a social enterprise into the curriculum at Green School Bali, ranging from pre-K to high school seniors and beyond, and kept a minimum student occupancy of 80% at all times.• Each year, coordinated 20+ end of school year projects with fixed delivery dates for primary, middle and high school students used as crucial mile stones in their respective curriculum and presented live to the community.• Collaborated with teachers and specialists across the school to write curriculum and co-teach 10+ classes that combined digital and hands on fabrication techniques, and introduced the students to safe working procedures, rapid prototyping and the iterative design process.• Hosted outside experts to teach paid workshops for the community to up-skill their knowledge on different design processes and fabrication techniques.https://www.facebook.com/ihubgreenschool/https://www.instagram.com/ihubgreenschool/https://www.instructables.com/member/ihubgreenschool/

Moved to Bali to work as an environmental and design consultant on a variety of projects with several organizations, mainly hospitality. Addressed waste management issues for clients including proper sorting, outreach and communication, leading trash cleanups with guests, and attempting to recycle plastic in house. Part way through this time period as a consultant I began to focus on an opportunity to develop hands on projects at the Green School Bali.

After completing my masters program I started working for two of my professors. One professor I helped design, build and install an interior design project for a client. The project entailed updating 6 rooms from a 1970s style to a more modern look. The other professor required a site model for a current project. The model was constructed using a laser cutter and cardboard as well as bass wood to show the location of the building on the site and in context of the surrounding environment.

As a Community Engagement Manager, Baxter was involved in managing relationships with donors, customers, and the local community. Baxter's duties included coordinating donation drives, organizing pick-ups or drop-offs of donated items, and maintaining strong communication with donors to ensure a smooth donation process. Baxter also collaborated with the sales team to develop pricing strategies that align with the company's mission of providing affordable options to the community. A notable aspect of the job was to develop relationships with local sites that were willing to build raised garden beds on site for local community gardens.

As compost specialist working at the Western Queens Compost Initiative, Baxter was responsible for collecting food scraps from farmers markets and transforming them into compost. The duties included setting up collection stations at farmers markets, educating market vendors and shoppers about composting, sorting and processing food scraps, and managing the composting process. Baxter ensured that the composting process was carried out efficiently and effectively, monitoring temperature, moisture levels, and turning the compost piles as needed. Baxter also supported local agriculture in the community by donating compost to local farms and gardens and helping lead workshops to build at home compost bins.

Conducted field work on invasive species including research, marking, removal, and pesticide use, sometimes with volunteers. Maintained trails that needed work or fixing - cutting tracks, laying mulch, removing down trees, posting signage, installing fences. Helped organize and set up two major fundraising events, including an auction.The Leelanau Conservancy is a 501(c)(3), and the position was created and funded in conjunction with AmeriCorps.
