Peak Audio was acquired by Cirrus Logic, despite our not really needing a sugar daddy, and so our work continued, more or less, although not without some wavering in direction and purpose.

and one of the founders.At Peak, we had the pleasure of inventing graphically configurable audio signal processing systems for large-scale, installed, audio systems (MediaMatrix(tm), Nion(tm), and a couple of other audio procesing engines).Our especiality was successfully interconnecting more DSP chips than you could shake a stick at.We also developed CobraNet, an Ethernet-based audio distribution product which was licensed and used by most major professional audio companies.These products are currently in use in public facilities throughout the world, bringing high-quality audio processing and incredible complexity to the masses.

WaveFrame's goal was to create a "Digital Studio in a Box" (a large, expensive box). This box had digital recording and editing, digital mixing and sample-based audio synthesis.I worked on MIDI recording and playback, timecode synchronization, and other such stuff.A lot of our work was eventually re-purposed for broadcast audio production editing, where, for all I know, it still lives on in some form.

Quad-Eight made very impressively large custom audio mixing consoles for the film industry, and I worked on the console automation systems.Mitsubishi Pro Audio Group acquired Quad-Eight at some point while I was there, at which point we had mixing consoles, film dubbers, digital multi-track tape decks, etc.
