I am currently consulting on several projects ranging from arms control to compliance with regulatory requirements in several industries.

I decided to take a sabbatical after the year I spent with the United Nations Panel of Experts, the travel schedule was impossible for a person based in South Africa, working in North Africa, Europe and the US. There were times that I returned to South Africa for less than 8 hours before boarding the next flight. At the end of my term, I calculated that I spent almost 8 months travelling and I was exhausted.I took this time to recuperate and focus on projects that were practical and labour intensive in nature. I renovated several properties, oversaw the construction of two wood structure houses and continued to developed accommodation for students on the farm close to the Onderstepoort Veterinary School in Pretoria.I relished the opportunity to do physical labour and being able to show incremental progress every day. The sense of accomplishment was amazing.
