After commuting for over 7 years to act as President of Construction Trailer Specialists, I have finally retired; at least for now.

Founded in 1999, Construction Trailer Specialists, Inc. has grown to be the largest or second largest manufacturer of large steel dump trailers within its market niche. Serving a variety of industries within the United States the company’s product lines include; bottom dump, end dump, side dump, light weight end dump, elliptical scrap, grain hopper, open top vans, walking floor as well as specialty trailers designed to meet a customer’s specific needs. Some of the more unique specialty trailers designed and manufactured include salt trailers shipped to Africa, coil trailers designed to handle the movement of large in-plant steel coils, and large capacity coal trailers.

SPG Strategic Partners Group is a consulting firm focusing on successfully growing businesses, managing complex turnaround and restructuring situations, developing key strategic analysis and execution plans, taking on CEO or CFO roles, spearheading due diligence for an acquisition, raising investment capital or linking privately held companies to private equity firms.

One of 2 professionals that managed and invested two private equity funds of about $40 million each specializing in the acquisition of U.S. based lower to middle market manufacturing, value-added distribution and knowledge-based service companies. Served on the Board as Chairman/Vice Chairman and oversaw the operations of the businesses. $350 million wholly owned subsidiary of Bell & Howell Company. Responsible for P&L, asset management, financial reporting and analysis, strategic planning, acquisitions, budgeting and taxes. Heavily involved in day-to-day operation of the company, including setting policy and direction, customer calls and other operational activities. Supervised a staff of over thirty professional and clerical people worldwide.

As an investor in a $45 million company that was a developer and OEM supplier of high and low resolution monochrome and small screen color video display monitors for technologically advanced applications. Responsible for P&L, asset management, financial reporting, treasury management, strategic planning, budgeting, taxes, insurance, bank negotiations, Information Systems, Human Resources and employee benefits. Supervised a staff of seven professionals and five clerical.

A $100 million publicly traded limited partnership that developed medical office buildings and other outpatient health care facilities throughout the U.S. on a turnkey, total responsibility basis. Responsible for the P&L, financial and SEC reporting, treasury management, strategic planning, budgeting, taxes, insurance, banking relations, investor relations and employee benefits. Supervised a staff of two professional and three clerical.

Managed two division vice presidents and a corporate staff of five professional and four clerical employees. Responsible for operations, P&L, financial and SEC reporting, treasury management, strategic planning, budgeting, taxes, $800 million insurance program, bank negotiations, investor relations and employee benefits. Liaison with investment bankers and outside counsel. Major accomplishments included:• Negotiated $95 million secured line of credit and $25 million in unsecured lines.• Negotiated sales contracts and administered sales of over $300 million in assets.• Saved $0.295 million by initiating the early termination of two pension plans.• Reduced insurance costs $0.6 million with no loss in coverage by re-negotiating terms set by broker.• Saved up to $0.1 million a year by negotiating new transfer agent agreement.• Advised US Treasury and Mississippi State Tax Commission on legislation relating to publicly traded partnerships.
