Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper® protects and restores our water and surrounding ecosystems for the benefit of current and future generations. In my first year, I evaluated current fundraising efforts, marketing support, database software, and constituent makeup. I formalized an annual calendar expanding our fundraising initiatives and engaged board members in opening their networks to the mission. Altogether, the organization exceeded our 2021 fundraising goal by 33%.

As a central gift Officer, I support advancement officers across all units of the University while developing my own portfolio of (100+) prospects seeking six-figure gifts of support. I have been successful in securing multiple six and seven-figure commitments and averaging over $1,000,000 for the past three fiscal years. By demonstrating strong relationship-building skills and adapting quickly to my new role with the University, I earned the additional responsibilities of being the Unit Lead for the Graduate School of Education (GSE) within my first six months. Working closely with Dean and faculty, we were the first Unit to achieve our campaign goal of $7,500,000.

I was in the top leadership role for this not for profit organization providing a “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” volunteer program supporting older Americans, the frail and disabled in western New York. I supported the board’s governance and strategic planning for the expansion of the program and we were successful in tripling our service area and service impact during my tenure. With entrepreneurial-type skills, I oversaw all facets of the business including budgeting, HR, purchasing, IT, and overall program development. I also built and managed a team of professionals from one full-time and three part-time to five full and five part-time in support of four hundred (400) volunteers and serving seven hundred (700) individuals in need. I was successful in developing professional partnerships and funding relationships with public and private foundations, regional and local governments, and regional businesses as well as build a strong constituency base for support throughout WNY. Through those relationships, I was successful in generating millions of dollars and built a sustainable model of service delivery and organizational growth.

Endowment and Planned Giving consultant for a successful eight (8) figure endowment campaign and planned giving initiative. I provided guidance and support to the agency’s volunteer leadership while mentoring agency fundraising staff. Contractual tasks included providing a feasibility review, prospect evaluations, marketing suggestions, proposal development, and coaching. I remained as a volunteer committee member after my contract period for an additional two years to continue to support the initial momentum of the campaign going into the agency’s centennial.
