Half Native American, half white American. Ancestry says I'm related to a famous Mormon founder and Sitting Bull, but who knows.Parents never married (No two-parent privilege here), father was a Native American, blue-collar landscaper, 400 miles away my whole life, died an alcoholic with plenty healthy problems, mother had psychological problems and died by her own hand. No grandparents surviving, never had cousins or siblings. Family has always been a privilege I haven't had. Mother worked minimum wage at a library, no male role models in the house. I've had life struggles most people associate with only the most disadvantaged in the US.I've struggled to work full-time to provide for myself while attending college and university. I've had to take out $100,000 loans to pay for my own tuition. Yet, I've more often than not made it as the top student in my classes (If SCU Camino exam grade distribution statistics are correct, classes in which I've noticed that I had the highest midterm or final exam for the class: Financial Management, Dynamic Macroeconomics, Principles of Marketing, Game Theory: Games and Strategy, Economics of the Environment, Ethics in Business, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics I & II, Intro to Managerial Accounting, Calculus for Business II, Data Analysis & Econometrics, and International Economics: Development & Growth). I've persevered through life tragedies, crises, and working-class full-time employment while taking classes.I've achieved the top 1% in grades, would have been summa cum laude, then struggled a bit with the stress and uncertainty of the value of education (There are far too many graduates without any meaningful employment, it makes you wonder if the system even works, struggled with wine overuse from the stress), now I'm currently looking at magna cum laude, maybe the top 5%, not as good but good enough for me.I'm currently studying Japanese while I take a break from classes. I also love reading books on economics, psychology, cultural anthropology, evolutionary science/psychology, history, and more topics I deem meaningful and scientific.I hope to rise up from my life's tragedies and disadvantages like the flames of a phoenix.
