• Improve performance of state-based functions by using reselect library
• Implement charts parsing through thousands of data points, requiring render time be kept under 200ms

• Add new features and develop functionality to the API, Gradebook and Admissions sections of Entrada, an open source web-based Integrated Teaching and Learning System.
• Refactor and redesign grades viewing system.
• Rebuild bulk grades download to CSV, reducing number of queries from ~10,000 to 3
• Design reusable frontend component classes in PHP, a design pattern eventually adopted by entire 30-person Entrada team
• Create in-browser grading system, allowing evaluators to view a document alongside the marking scheme without any additional software or downloads

123Roses is an Ottawa flower shop catering to the local area. They were looking to build a new website as well as improve key metrics such as a high bounce rate. Improvements were made to make key information easy for customers to find, as well as reducing the number of steps required to reach checkout. The result: 4 weeks after launching the new site.

• Redesigned the entire frontend to be fully responsive to all screen widths, based on Twitter Bootstrap framework

• Developed asynchronous media transcoding API for internal use. Options include return format and maximum filesize. Depending on what max filesize the user would request, a different compression algorithm was chosen to.
