Work as a technical advisor at a non-profit on issues related to global water security in developing regions. Responsibilities involved regular meetings with government and civil society organizations (domestic and global), extensive research on initiatives to advance water security, tracking of relevant convening and Congressional legislation, among other tasks. Most recently, traveled to Uganda as follow-up to a Stakeholder Commitments Gathering on WASH in healthcare facilities, a global convening co-hosted by Global Water 2020 and called in response to the UN Secretary General’s Call to Action for water, sanitation, and hygiene in all healthcare facilities. Here I had the opportunity to work with public health advocates and policy experts and witness first-hand global headway on an extremely cross-sectoral and difficult issue.

Greater Milwaukee Area

Awarded Research Assistantship to study urban water management and environmental policy development. Research projects involve urban stormwater management, water resource modeling, green infrastructure, UAV applications within water resource management and stormwater compliance. Fortunate to work in collaboration with stakeholders of diverse backgrounds including engineers at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District and WiDNR, environmental lawyers at the Water Law and Policy Initiative of Marquette, as well as students and professors from both in-state and out-of-state universities.

Involved with a research team focused on environmental restoration to grassland ecosystems by means of rotational grazing. My lab work involved sampling, grinding, and analyzing biomass samples to compare methods of ecological restoration.

My responsibilities included working with Civil 3D updating records drawings and editing CAD details as directed by my supervisor. I also helped complete various technical reports for different projects. An example would be an Emergency Operating Plan and Procedure for a new wastewater treatment plan being designed by my company. Lastly, I worked in the field inspecting job sites while gaining first hand experience working with General Contractors and Project Managers.

I am part of a research team hired by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to develop a high early strength concrete for rapid repair of construction projects. I participate in the lab by mixing various batches of concrete and performing tests on the samples.
