Still solving cost problems, and making sure that everyone knows everything they need on cost. Working with a great project team around the world, we have eliminated plastic from our primary packaging, and are looking at how we can make these long lasting machines last even longer, with repairability and serviceability opportunities. Team Accomplishments: made primary packaging completely plastic free, working with outside firm to properly calculate total carbon footprint. We have worked with iFixit to make more repairable ThinkPads and improved the repair and servicing process.I am also still the lead problem solver for cost questions as they come in.

    Despite never having written an Excel macro (I had written some 123 macros), I was asked to develop a worldwide pricing tool that is completely customizable by geography. This tool was in use at both IBM and Lenovo (Lenovo's PC division sunset PriceCalc in the summer of 2013; it was still in place in Lenovo's server group in 2016) by dozens of pricers, and has priced tens of billions of dollars worth of bids for products sold in over 200 countries. A derivative tool was used by sales reps in Europe to model deals up front.This spreadsheet/program has over 13,000 lines of code, and can price a deal in any of the 100+ countries Lenovo does business in.
