Change is now the norm in the business world, and nowhere more so than in banking. The entire business model is under re-evaluation as factors such as open banking and PSD2 define a new environment – where the only way to contend with disintermediation is to accelerate the essential process of digital transformation. Banks must become technology focussed, from end to end. My role is about helping to sharpen this focus on better business outcomes, with a huge emphasis on better customer experiences coupled with, and even driven by, accepting the need for internal, cultural reassessment. I bring 30 years of experience on both the technology side and the commercial side of the business world. From this background I have an informed and detailed understanding of how to make sure that technology serves the business outcomes an organisation aims to achieve.I’m passionate about disruption; encouraging my customers to look at everything with the conviction that change must come fast, and everywhere. This starting point leads to occasional differences of opinion about the best way forward but that’s the essence of innovation – working and collaborating with change ambassadors within the bank to enrich our collective strategy on progress.I support my customers in every way; from bringing the unrivalled customer and user experience technologies from the ServiceNow portfolio, to making sure that every stakeholder is involved and the transformation agenda is in the spotlight all the time, and is itself subject to constant questioning. Change simply never stands still.
