As the Program Officer for Georgia, I am MVP’s main liaison with 60+ local organizations, funders/intermediaries, national partners, and donors seeking to support movement building in the state. I draft internal strategy documents and external c3, c4, and PAC state plans that make the case for where, when, how, and how much to invest for success in the short and long-term to build progressive power through grassroots organizing, resulting in meaningful policy change. Additionally, I am accountable for building a deep and ongoing understanding of Georgia's political landscape, progressive infrastructure, challenges, and opportunities through ongoing landscape analyses. Last, I manage Georgia's grantmaking budget for the state including tracking partner budget gaps and adjusting grant making budget accordingly, while being intentional to nurture new and emerging movement voter organizing groups, alliances, and special projects or campaigns who have historically been overlooked and underinvested in.

Tides Advocacy is a team of political, legal, and financial experts that identify, connect, and fuel movements for social justice and the health of our democracy. In my role, I provide the following support:Manage a mixed partner portfolio of grantmaking entities and fiscally sponsored organizations in the advocacy and political space, which may include multi-entity organizations (501c3, 501c4 with affiliated PACs and LLCs); Provide high-level strategic, financial, and organizational guidance to grantmaking entities and organizations for social impact and mission success; andPartner with internal political, legal, and compliance experts to support lobbying and partisan activity for portfolio

As the Donor Relations Manager, my key responsibilities include the management of the mid and major donor relationships, implementation of a year-round engagement plan and solicitation strategy, and support for the overall individual giving program. I manage a portfolio of 900 + individual donors, coordinate all communication, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition of portfolio managed donors. In cross-departmental coordination with the Development, Digital, and Communications Team, I develop pipelines to move mid-level donors into the organization’s overall major donor portfolio and a system for assigning portfolios of current and prospective major donors to senior staff. Additionally, I developed and implemented a comprehensive annual individual giving program that includes direct mail, digital fundraising, honor and memorial gifts, peer-to-peer, online giving days, Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and other work place and/or matching gift programs, and emerging platforms. I also coordinate our multichannel EOY fundraising campaign, in collaboration with others on the Development, Communications and Digital teams.Last, I reconcile contributions from individual donors and update projections and contribute to month end close reconciliations, fiscal year audit processes, and financial updates while developing budgets and monitor expenses related to the individual giving program.

The Western States Center's mission is to build a progressive movement for social, economic, racial and environmental justice in the eight Western states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and Alaska. Our vision is of a just and equitable society governed by a strong, grassroots democracy. We work on three levels: strengthening grassroots organizing and community-based leadership; building broad-based statewide progressive coalitions; and encouraging a new generation of citizen leaders to run for public office and engage in the public policy process.

As a Field Organizer for the historic Georgia Senate runoff, I was responsible for engaging with community leaders, building volunteer capacity for voter contact, and mobilizing targeted voters according to regional goals and targets. In conjunction with campaign leadership, I developed community engagement plans for Henry County providing visibility for the campaign in the community and at events. Finally, our team ranked 10th in the most knocked doors in the state, which holistically resulted in Georgia winning two Senate seats which is now represented by Jon Ossoff and Reverend Warnock.

Young People For (YP4) is a social justice incubator that provides life-long social justice leadership training to unlock the potential of young people historically left out of opportunity. We are a national network that centers black, brown, indigenous, disabled, and LGBTQ+ leaders in education, media, politics, business, government, and everywhere.- Developed a community action plan to address criminal justice needs in my community focusing on alternative sentencing for caretakers with an emphasis on Black mothers - Attended regional and national trainings to learn foundational social justice leadership skills through workshops, guest trainers, and discussions.- Participated in YP4 Civic Engagement initiatives - Attended monthly skill-building webinars for personal and professional growth.

As the Development and Strategic Partnership Manager, I develop and implement comprehensive written annual resource development plans, while creating innovative fundraising & partner acquisition strategies for donors and prospects in each constituent group including individuals, faith groups, organizations, foundations, etc. This has resulted in cultivating cross-organizational relationships with community leaders to build grassroots capacity by developing research-based, racial-equity content for civic engagement & leadership training's. A couple of key accomplishments include: 1) increasing volume of grant submissions by 65% with proven history of securing $175,000+ ;2) developing an individual donor & membership base & digital giving platform, while strategically managing board and partnering agency relationships to support fundraising efforts, cultivation events, communications, and research.

As the lead clinical research coordinator, I manage research project databases, support less experienced staff, write and submit federal grants, develop flow sheets and other study related documents, and complete source documents/case report forms primarily for project LEO (Lymphoma Epidemiology of Outcomes). An additional portion of my role includes interfacing with research participants where I determine eligibility and consent for study participants according to protocol while ensuring I am in compliance with IRB & HIPAA. I contribute to developing recruitment strategies and conducting screenings for study participants including interviews and questionnaires. Once recruited, I supervise the collection of study specimens and processing. I ensure compliance with research protocols, review case report forms, conduct audits for accuracy with source documents, and attend monitoring meetings with sponsors. With appropriate credentialing and training, I perform phlebotomy and diagnostics.

As the program coordinator at Community Voices, division of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine, I manage research projects utilizing methods of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. I develop strategic plans and objectives that ensure the program's continued success and develop evaluation methods to assess outcomes. Additionally, I conduct program research and ensure that the preparation of mandatory operational, statistical, and financial reports is accurate and factual, and that all reports comply with federal and state regulations and/or institutional policies. Finally, I draft grant proposals including grant and budget preparation for foundations and private donors that support the Satcher Health Leadership Institute mission.• Work with programs and studies designed to evaluate the prevalence and surveillance of public health issues and the effectiveness of targeted interventions• Assist in identifying funding resources and in developing funding strategies and initiatives• Serve as liaison and interact with stakeholders and organizations who currently participate or is looking to participating in the programs offered • Utilize public health principles to analyze, develop, implement, and promote solutions to public health issues/problems.• Prepare grant proposals, protocols, data analysis plans, reports, manuscripts, and present study findings. • Address public health issues by providing education, technical assistance, advocacy, public awareness, and research.

Under the direction of the Director of Community Voices: Healthcare for the Underserved, I perform background literature searches, data entry, secondary data analyses, as well as drafting relevant sections of proposals, manuscripts, and PowerPoint presentations. I am also detailed-oriented while aiding in the development and implementation of community based projects, grant proposals (i.e. literature reviews, conceptualization of health interventions, funding research, etc.) relative to health disparities. I also participate in the development of health related fact sheets, policy documents, and presentations. More specifically, I perform a variety of research related activities involved in the collection of health related information, such as database searches, reviews of public health literature etc. Confer with supervisor in developing plans for research proposals and implementation of research projects that have been funded. Gain exposure to the evaluation and interpretation of collected public health, administrative and/or educational data. Assist with the preparation of oral presentations or written reports. Review journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies and aid in the development of grant proposals and program implementation.  Identify community resources and supportive public health related opportunities to enhance the initiatives of Community Voices. Participate in the planning and implementation of advocacy focused initiatives.

As a former public policy intern, I coordinated various campus outreach, assisted with community organizing and supporter engagement, volunteer recruitment, legislative support, and research. I also represented Planned Parenthood at community events to not just engage with policy makers, but to provide feedback from the populations I connected with relating to healthcare access. Additionally, I entered voter registration data and synthesized data analysis collection to support public policy staff to include on the January legislative session. Last, I traveled and worked with the Health Center Advocacy Program where I engaged with the health center managers to continue to advocate for our patients during the legislative session to ensure there are no bills that have a negative impact on the affordable services provided by our clinics. I received advocacy and policy training under Nikema Williams, Senator for District 39, and Yterenickia Bell, Councilwoman for the City of Clarkston.

As a program assistant, I worked under the subgroup of NFG, Grantmakers for Southern Progress. In this role, I traveled to various cities to meet with 80+ funders to discuss strategies on how best to leverage resources and encourage philanthropic support into the South for structural change. Additionally, I provided support to the project director by scheduling daily meetings and serving as logistics coordinator. I also had the pleasure of planning funder gatherings and special events (funder delegations, conferences, meetings). Last, I assisted with directed research to determine funder networks in the South to encourage collaboration among grassroots organizations.
