Involved with the design and construction supervision of all Civil Services, Waste Water Treatment Plants and small road construction and upgrades.

Focussed on the design and plan drafting of sewer systems, waste water treatment facilities, roads and other services.

The month of vacation training was spent based at the site office of a major road reconstruction project outside of Okahandja in Namibia. Activities observed and involved in during this time include almost everything related to road construction. This included the construction of numerous small bridges and culverts, testing of material samples, activities surrounding borrow pits, ect.

worked as the sole volenteer under Proff. van Zijl in the structures department at the university of stellenbosch. The work aimed at finding and designing a solution to the reabilitation of an old Cape Dutch building found on the property presently used for community improvement activities.

Volunteered to help design and manage the construction of a new boundary fence around the property of a community education institute in the township of Kataturra in Windhoek.

Part of a volunteer team of students under Dr. Billy Boshoff in the structural department, which helped to conceptualize, design and construct 2 hard surfaced football pitches in the Township as part of a community project leading up to the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

During the middle vacation of 2008, a month was spent at this Consulting Engineering firm in Windhoek Namibia. Experience was gained in a wide variety of design projects, including roads, industrial and residential buildings, a pedestrian bridge and various alterations. One of the weeks was spent on site with the building contractor for an office block; I was given a small team and was responsible for the construction of several steal roof trusses.
