Passionate about sustainable and equitable development in Namibia, Scheepers has spent his career in various development focused projects. In May 2022, the first appointment of the Hyphen Hydrogen Project in Namibia, with the position of Senior Project Developer, supporting the in-country general operational establishment and heading the technical development workstream of the project. Since 2019, Scheepers has been the Chairperson of the Renewable Energy Industry Association of Namibia (REIAoN), mandated to redirect and restructure the association to better represent an industry which has seen great change and growth in the previous 4 years. During this time the Association has quadrupled in membership, revenue and is now recognized as a key representative of the private sector in renewable energy in Namibia. From 2015 to 2022, the project manager for InnoSun, a leading Independent Power Producer in Namibia. As the project implementation lead, Scheepers managed all EPC contracts, from tendering and contract negotiation to Commercial Operation Date (COD). Successful projects include: - 10 MWac of Solar PV single axis tracking across two parks (Osona and Aussenkehr Solar PV Parks)- 5 MWac in Wind Energy (Namibia's first utility wind park - Ombepo) - A further pipeline of maturely developed projects summing to over 200MW in Namibia.From September 2018, Scheepers received additional responsibility as project developer, while still the lead implementation Project Manager. Scheepers has the responsibility of finding commercial opportunities, developing projects and finally managing the construction to full operation. Tasks include: - Greenfield Project Development (securing land, securing customers, securing required licensing) - Project Licence Tendering (for both Private and Public RFQs)- Project Acquisition (various stages of development) - Build Project Business Models- Commercial and Construction Contract Negotiations - EPC Management (Design, Logistics, Tendering, etc) - Construction and Contract Management (Supervision, Program and Payment Adjudication)- Project Commissioning Management Scheepers has been described as a leader who is at ease in multi-cultural groups.
