The design of pneumatic umbilical reelers, hydraulic winches, storage baskets, sheaves and various other offshore equipment for the oil and gas industry. Responsible for the full design life cycle from conception to completion. Skills and achievements include:Designing equipment from precision components to 40 tonne fabrications.Carrying out various hand calculations including structural frame calcs, winch calcs and drum torque calcs to assist in the specification of pneumatic motors and gearboxes and to verify the equipment is fit for purpose. Working to various engineering standards including dnv 2.7-1, dnv 2.7-3, dnv 2.22, ISO13628-7Involved in factory acceptance testing and dealing with clients and sub-contractors.Undertaking Static FEA stress analysis simulations to verify equipment is structurally soundsimulating frame drop analysis using Abaqus CAEHelping to automate the design and draughting process by developing and integrating custom design templates using Visual Basic and I-logic.Designing hydraulic panels and pneumatic circuits.
