The Oracle databases were on Microsoft clusters using Oracle Failsafe. One assignment was to proof of concept and document the restoration of a database that had a tablespace skipped during the RMAN backup. This was an effort to minimize space taken up by the backups since the tablespace that was skipped could easily be recovered with exports if needed.Tested and configured a new table driven procedure that would relay changes, made to brewery recipes, in a centralized Oracle database to the Sybase databases in the breweries. The triggers on the tables would write to a "gateway" table that would record the change. A separate procedure would run every 30 minutes to then move that information to Sybase databases.

Stuart Maue is a legal auditing and legal costs management firm (www.smmj.com). Served as Database Administrator for Oracle 10g r2 RAC production system, as well as Oracle 11g r1 test and development systems. These systems received legal bills (submissions), which were then processed to make sure of their compliance to billing guidelines. Installed Oracle 9i Application Servers whose main use is for production report servers and for in-house forms.Updated LEDES 98B data import DB package to provide better messages to firms for solving problems during import. Upgraded same to use blob files. Created and modified many other DB packages, procedures and functions, which contained inserting, updating, deleting, list of values (ref cursors), and business logic for the front end to use. Created a wrapper package to the report server so that reports ran directly from the database.Implemented, documented and updated the submission workflow process. The workflow was used to keep track of the submissions (legal bills submitted by the firm) through their lifecycle (Firm import, Initial review, Appeals). Trained new employees in DB department to get them familiar with the way things are done and programmed. Helped end users and customers with problems within the system and with the use of the internal forms applications. Partnered with Warehouse Builder in the upkeep and maintenance of the data warehouse (mart). Applied Oracle, HPUX and Linux patches to the system as needed. Installed Enterprise Manager Grid Control for use with all the databases. It was an invaluable tool used in tuning SQL, adding users, adding table spaces, looking for DB lock or session contention, RMAN backup jobs, and changing database parameters. Installed 9i RAC system on 2 HP rx5670 Integrity servers. Assisted with installed 10g RAC on same servers. Moved the Oracle 9i production data over to Oracle 10g.
