Virtualization Server Administration & Functionality Tester

Working cooperatively with Education Logistics Information Technology, Engineering, and Programming divisions this position consisted of solo management & front-line support to our in-house and offshore servers tasked with providing a diverse set of proving grounds exclusively used for the development of Edulog’s latest mobile tablet GPS software, infrastructure development for their key Saudi Arabia expansion, and compatibility testing their software suite under unreleased Windows & SQL database software. This project tackled Utilizing Cisco software XenServer and Microsoft’s Hyper-V platforms for virtualization testing these virtual machines were regularly used for Agile and Black-box testing. Throughout the next 6 months my team held weekly SCRUM teleconference meetings to discuss progress, setbacks, and future of project development. One of the most important factors of this project going gold was being completely flexible with my Saudi associates. Until the project was moved cross-country the last 4 months I was running as sole technician during 2am-9am.Supplemental duties included testing of Edulog’s software suite using a wide array of software-testing methodologies focusing on the back-end of the software such as proper SQL database connections & compatibility, active domain policy compliance, and product installer functionality testing.Solo projects included design and implementation of a multi-tiered NAS redundant backup solution to accommodate the growing number of servers and milestone back-ups, and creating a multi-purpose instructional manual / troubleshooting guide for Software Testing and User Support Services during the 2014 new release of Edulog’s graphical GPS bus software.
