Ember Korowai Takitini was created after a merger between Connect Supporting Recovery and Frameworks Trust, forming a large not-for-profit organization that provides mental health, alcohol and other drug and intellectual disability support services.I am a member of the Ember Services Board, governing the provision of all of our government and DHB contracted services, and am proud to have worked with the CEO to develop the initial Ember Services Board strategic plan.

Recent Projects include an IT Strategic Plan for SpectrumCare Trust Board, an independent charitable trust that provides services for children, young people and adults with disabilities and their families. Setting up a Support Office for a Fast growing Software Company providing Robotic Process Automation Software to the New Zealand Market.

Spectrum Care is an indépendant Charitable trust that provides services for children, young people and adults with disabilities, and their whanau.Previously I've worked with Spectrum Care in a governance roles, providing independent advice and participating in the ICT governance group. I have taken up a role on the Executive leadership team to provide direction and ownership of our technology environment, including creation of our IT strategic plan.

Project Laneways offer globally accredited courses in New Zealand and Australia. As an accredited Prince2, Organizational Change Management, AgilePM and Better Business Cases trainer my role included running public and private courses and sharing knowledge with business professionals looking to up-skill.By far one of the most important aspects of this role was understanding how to stand up and impact knowledge in an organised way, helping people learn rather than telling them what to do! Imparting knowledge students - rather than simply presenting - means helping people through to understanding and ensuring they develop the skills to take their learnings further.

My role with NZTA followed my successful work through Tenzing, during which time I helped to establish the NZTA IT vendor management office - reviewing their IT contracts and procurement processes, so they could implement suitable vendor management processes and policies, including creating suitable template contracts for future use.As National TOC (Transport Operations Centre) Manager, I worked out of the operations centre in Auckland, this fixed-term contract saw me responsible for the infrastructure of the operations centre, overseeing infrastructure (and applications) used and rolled out. I was also part of a governance group providing advise to the national TOC Forum comprising representatives form Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. My strategic work included developing a structure for improved operations, including how best to structure the operations centres technical support to best deliver on the business expectations.

My work at Tenzing saw me focused on strategic and procurement type engagements across a wide range of projects and organisations, both private and government. Among some of the greatest successes during this time were seeing projects through, from identifying the problems and procuring vendors through to managing the implementation of recommended solutions.Some projects include:- Technical Due diligence for the buy-back of KiwiRail for the New Zealand government, with particular focus on the technology and infrastructure.- Initial strategic review of the New Zealand Post telecommunications system, which included creating and running the RFP process to select a provider for upgrades to New Zealand Post’s Call Centre and Enterprise telecommunications systems (including managing resultant project to successful delivery).- Development of the IT Strategy for NZ Post Retail, including analysis of current and future requirements, and analysis of capability to meet demand. Several recommended initiatives were taken to governance level and implemented.- Review of Air New Zealand’s Network Infrastructure. This included looking at their outsource contract for network infrastructure services, and management of an exploratory process that subsequently decreased network infrastructure service costs.- Strategic review of the Inland Revenue Department’s technology structure.- Taking on the role of acting CIO for New Zealand Racing Board, including managing the IT operational team, and key focus on responsibility for the RFP for their telecommunications upgrade.
