Designed proof of concept vehicle capable of both flight and nimble underwater travel. Contemporary attempts utilized a waterproofed quadcopter; the novelty of the senior design project utilized a hexacopter flying frame and a tethered, ROV-style underwater component (inspired by the OpenROV Trident).Separate components allowed for truly nimble underwater control (vs. underwater quadcopter flight) and a floating aerial frame combined with tether allowed for deeper travel and communication from a wireless user.Leadership roles included Gantt chart scheduling, action log for accountability, budgeting/cost analysis, failure mode effect analysis, and project task oversight.Team member roles included ROV CAD design, communication electronics integration, and ROV controls hardware.
