I have been fortunate to work in the Specialty Coffee industry in a variety of roles, starting as a barista and a café manager before continuing my executive leadership career with premier national specialty coffee and CPG/Natural brands. I am a highly entrepreneurial, innovative visionary, leading and developing sales, marketing, and operations teams at the executive level for over 20 years. I enjoy collaborative strategy, creating big-picture goals, and then rolling up my sleeves to implement tactics with my teams. I work with customers and clients in every specialty products category, from national distributors to competition-worthy cafes, OCS, grocery chains, restaurant groups, and boutique hotels, giving me a balanced view of industry trends, profit opportunities, and company organizational structures.I co-wrote the original manuscript for "The Successful Coffee House" book with Lon LaFlamme, based on our highly-rated national seminar curriculum. Over the years, I've written several articles for Specialty Coffee trade magazines, and have taught college courses on the subject of creating successful startup businesses and teams. As a strategic growth expert, I've consulted for natural products companies, creating sales and marketing, operational, and sustainability strategies for various hospitality and CPG businesses.This unique experience has allowed me to design and build sales, marketing, and operations cultures with a sense of ownership, fun, and high accountability to budgets and vision. My teams and I have a record of successes, ranging from "Best Place to Work" to winning Roast Magazine's "Roaster of the Year" award with three separate international coffee companies. When I'm not drinking coffee, you can bet I’m watching my kids’ sporting events, chasing around our 4 dogs, or just spending quality time with my beautiful wife, Robbi, daughters, Ryenn and Reagan and son, Locker.
