Moog Inc. is worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of motion control products and systems. Moog Aircraft Group Division develops flight control systems for commercial and military aircraft.During my time with Moog I collaborated with cross-functional teams across domestic and international company sites to complete project milestones for commercial aircraft actuation programs. Developed technical data packages for electro-mechanical actuator brakes and for leading edge inboard and outboard geared rotary actuators, and prepared and presented technical information for internal and external design reviews. Supported and oversaw a variety of tests such as development, risk mitigation, qualification, and root cause investigation, by developing test procedures and test fixtures, processing and analyzing test data, and documenting findings in detailed engineering reports. Resolved various in-service and manufacturing related issues for linear actuators and actuator brakes by applying root cause and corrective action techniques. Provided engineering dispositions for non-conforming hardware, prepared engineering justifications for design modifications of flight critical hardware, and presented information to engineering personnel in review board meetings.

Boart Longyear is one of the world’s leading provider of drilling services, drilling equipment, and performance tooling for mining and drilling companies globally.During my time with Boart Longyear, I supported the development and sustainment of surface core drill rigs, drill subsystems, and drill structures which included rod clamping mechanisms, rod make / brake mechanisms, hoists, hoist tensioners and limiting devices. Reduced drill rig operating costs and improved operator safety by designing novel solutions for drill hoist tensioning and limiting hazards - reference patent number: 8,991,791 and patent application: US20140166953.

UTC Aerospace Systems (formerly Hamilton Sundstrand) is one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products.Through Kettering University's mechanical engineering program, I was able to participate in a rotational program within the Mechanical Engine Systems and Space-Land-Sea Integrated Product Development Teams, which allowed me to gain valuable industry experience in the different phases of jet engine fuel control (JFC) development and production. I contributed to organizational goals within major business units by assuming numerous roles, which included purchasing, quality, manufacturing, project, and design engineering. Notable contributions and responsibilities include:Management of a thesis project that sought to evaluate and ultimately optimize the methods used to quantify hydraulic valve leakage that occurs internal to jet engine fuel controls.- Facilitated electronic engine control circuit board inspection processes by developing an electronic database.- Reduced JFC production costs by $4,000/yr. by developing an improved fuel filter fixture.- Performed various engineering calculations for pneumatic and hydraulic valves.- Reduced JFC valve development time by writing standardized valve design work instructions and calculations.
