Perhaps my greatest passion in life is not something I planned to do, rather it's quite the opposite. I'm a scientist through and through, fueled by a curiosity and an unabated passion for the world around me, but what I found true joy and value in was learning how to best share that with others. I've always believed that a large portion of science's value is staked in the often overlooked ability for one to communicate it to those around them. I spent my four years at Cornell University not only navigating my dual majors but also working full time making my own niche online, and in various departments through Cornell. Over the last four years I've used my passion for effective communication skills and science to grow a base of over three million followers, and have reached over four billion people during this time. My content ranges across a broad array of topics, from the college admissions processes, biology, beauty, consumer education, cosmetic chemistry, and human cellular biology.At Cornell I've had the opportunity to work with the Cornell Insect Collection both as an undergrad lab technician, and as the manager of their social media across platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. I've worked on establishing partnerships and collaborations with Cornell's official accounts for various activations. On TikTok over the last year We've grown by about 4,000%, and gained over 120,000 followers. Through this I've been able to work on outreach initiatives with various museums and academic institutions, including giving a presentation at the Entomological Society of America in the fall of 2022. My work in science communications and media has allowed me to advocate for issues that are extremely close to me such as conservation, human rights, and climate activism. In the fall of 2022 I had the opportunity to meet with President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the chief of staff Mark Klein where we discussed increased protections for endangered species, how to communicate with younger generations, and more funding for underrepresented areas of STEM. In addition to this I've had the opportunity to work with Bill Gates and Gates Ventures, Hailey Bieber, Scarlett Johansson & Bio-Tech Companies such as Amyris on various topics such as marketing advice, sustainability, and better communication tactics with a general audience. Wherever I work, my goal is to imbue that position with my passion, empathy, and growth mindset.
