With a career spanning 39 years at EY, I have gained extensive global expertise, notably in Europe and Southern Africa, by serving both family-owned enterprises and multinational corporations, and am proud to have lead a transformative 14-year period in Portugal, Angola, and Mozambique.In my client serving capacity, I spearheaded teams responsible for auditing financial statements and providing advisory services. Our focus areas included IFRS, internal controls, corporate governance, compliance, and sustainability. Furthermore, I have had the distinct pleasure of collaborating with clients in the pursuit of operational excellence and the development of growth strategies. I take pride in my wide-range industry experience, spanning sectors such as automotive, retail and consumer products, healthcare and life sciences, infrastructure, and apparel.For 6 years I was Markets Leader for EY's Mediterranean Region, comprising Italy, Portugal and Spain, which involved working closely with our account leaders on developing solutions for many large corporate clients across these 3 countries. Subsequently, in EY's wider Europe West Region, I chaired the Investment Committee, devising and overseeing EY´s growth strategy through strategic investments (by acquisitions and organic) across Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland, In my tenure as Country Managing Partner, I played a pivotal role in expanding EY's presence in Portugal, Angola, and Mozambique. This growth translated to an increase from 320 professionals to over 2,000 – a feat mirrored by our revenue growth. A significant part of my role involved identifying promising talent, fostering their development, and instilling them with belief in their potential – an aspect of my job I found profoundly rewarding.I have an unwavering passion for customer service and a persistent curiosity that drives me to question the status quo.
